Vandoren has always been my original choice of reed as it is quality is commonly (if not always) exceptionally good. Compared to the original, the Java Red is not as hard to “break” into playing mode, which may be what you want: but I like to feel the reed fight back, so will likely stick with the basi in the future. But this is a outstanding reed and IS worth your money!
