One of the most ordinary and well known sax strap, the Neotech design offers an level of ease and easy of use that most other strap may not compare to.

There are so a great deal of dissimilar types of neck straps available today for the saxophonist because we all look for dissimilar things in a neck strap: durability, comfort, looks. I’ve used everything from the soft comfy ones to a shoe string and a re-shaped coat hanger when my regular one broke and there wasn’t anything else around. Let me tell you, no matter how good the band is you’re playing with, if you’re using a coat hanger for a neck strap you in truth want the gig to be over quick! Note to self: carry a back-up strap.

The saxophone neck strap in all likelihood isn’t the portion of the saxophone we commonly give much thought to altho it plays a huge role in your playing comfortability and in the safety of your sax as well. Some of the most important things to consider when looking for a neck strap that’s going to be just right for you:

material

comfort

durability

security

ease of adjustment

easy to insert and remove

Material & comfort

The material it’s made of will affect how it feels around your neck, exceptionally if you like to wear it inside the collar directly on the skin. I would commend a wide, padded leather strap. These are more highpriced but are the most comfortable for this kind of use. Also ok for comfortability are the neoprene ones which are a synthetic rubber. These give a slight stretch and make your horn genuinely feel lighter.

Security

For sax security issues it all depends on which type of player you are: sitting down in a chair or jumping around on a stage. If it’s the later, then you want a saxophone neck strap that has a closed hook on it and not made with cheap plastic because your sax will in the end fall right from your hands right on to the floor. Go with the closed hook model to make it out of the question for the sax to slip off the hook ring. But still, stay away from cheap plastic because after a while it will break and… bang! Once, for the duration of a live performance the plastic hook on my strap broke while I was in the middle of a wailing solo and my sax went flying to the front of the stage and just when it comes to hit a couple girls throughout the face… I keep out of the way of these types of hooks these days. If you spend all your saxophone playing hours calmly sitting on a chair with no aggressive movement, then a cheap, open hook neck strap will be just fine.

Ease of adjustment

How easy it is to adjust it’s length is very important because you are always going to be adjusting the length of your sax neck strap. Because of the adjustment mechanisms and material of the strap it may be very hard to in truth move the length up and down, specially when very slight, minor adjustments are necessitated and this may get very discouraging and hindering in getting the length just right. A neck strap that adjusts too without apparent effort may be even worst because the perfective length you set for yourself will modify too speedily leaving you to constantly make adjustments. Avoid the genuinely cheap neck straps for this reason.

Easy to insert and remove

If you are perpetually having to remove your sax very speedily then you may need an open hook. There are hooks that are to a complete degree closed and make it out of the question for your horn to fall off. Personally, I do need to remove my horn perpetually for the duration of a performance but I use a closed hook. This does make it a bit more difficult but you do get applied to it and you know the horn isn’t going to fall off

I think the perfective strap has yet to be made. It’s either too soft, too hard, to wide, too thin… and if it isn’t, then there’s something defective with the hook. Go for what you need the most and remember, it doesn’t injure to have two!

5Sturdiest strap I have employed & very comfortable
By Lance D. Yorgason
I have applied various other straps in the past and one thing when it comes to them I didn’t like is that the hook did not close completely. The hook was open at one end and I was always frighted my sax would fall off. This strap is different. The hook has a clasp and you may be assured your sax is securely fastened to the strap and will not fall off. Also the ease is great. I may play a long time and my neck does not get tired. This strap is the sturdiest I have employed and the extra padding around the neck is so comfortable. The length of the strap is likewise very easy to adjust whereas it has been difficult to adjust the length of other straps. In my opinion, each sax player will have to own this strap. You wont be disappointed.

5Everone that has a sax needs this for sure!
By James
My 9-year old son is playing the sax and taking lessons in school. He is in truth excessively affected emotionally with regards to learning everything he may and being a percentage of the band. We had purchased him a sax online and it came with a pretty nice strap to hold it. Well, altho the strap was nice, the sax weighs a lot and pulls on his neck and back while he practicing and playing the instrument. This is a problem since my son would play for a while and it would become more and more painful over time.

We purchased this strap, hoping it would relieve a little of the pain and support extend the time he could play and practice. I was shocked, the strap not only wholly annihilated the stress and pain on his neck, it made the sax feel much much lighter and made it so my son didn’t even detect there was any stress on his neck or back.

This is a outstanding product and high quality design and construction. It would be worth buying for anybody that plays a sax, even if you are not a young boy, but for kids it is in all probability even more valuable. I think this Neotech strap is worth each penny and I would remunerate even more given it has solved the indispensable complaint my son had around practicing and playing. I strongly commend this to any individual and everyone.

5A Necessity
By Thundenlitenen
This is the gold ordinary of neck straps. It is durable, comfortable, washable (very important), and affordable. The neck strap is the easiest thing to alter when adjusting the ease of playing. Any player would do well to have one of these on standby if not actively using. I’ve applied one for 8 years and loved it. I commend to all my peers and students.
