Metal soprano clarinet instruments were usual in the early 20th century until plastic merchandise took over. 5Rovner is the best
By Abigail M. Hodson
My private teacher suggested that I get the Rovner 1r dark ligature when
my old one broke. It without delay bettered my tone, and permitted me to hit those high notes with ease. I commend this ligature for all clarinet players, begginers or proffesional.

5A “must” for the enthusiastic student
By AlecG
I purchased this ligature, along with my Selmer Prelude CL771.

Two things helped in my decision…
a. The metal ligature included with the basi instrument commonly sounds a little “cranky” (at least for the beginner)
b. Metal ligatures ordinarily leave marks in the mouthpiece

Even as a beginner, I may perfectly distinguish the divergence amidst the metal and this ligature… Sound comes out with a much more fulfilling and pleasant body.

In conclusion: an inexpensive accessory that helps bettering sound quality from the start!
