Your choice of clarinet mouthpiece will largely affect the quality and type of sound that you will produce. After all, the mouthpiece is where sound starts and clarinet players have to use the right mouthpiece according to their level of expertise. Choosing a clarinet mouthpiece according to your specific needs and expertness is necessary to stay clear from difficulties while playing.
The mouthpiece has various purposes. First of all, it allows the user to get air vibrating through the clarinet in order to invent sound. And second, the mouthpiece works to hold the reed in place. A lot of things go into the decision on the type of mouthpiece that you must use. These include the material, interior and exterior design and the mouthpiece facing.
In a clarinet, facing on a mouthpiece is also referred to as the lay. This is the portion where the reed sits in the mouthpiece. The size and length of the facing may affect the timbre of sound that the clarinet develops but it’s not a focus of concern when choosing a clarinet mouthpiece.
Mouthpieces may be made of respective materials. Most are made of plastic. Pieces made of wood or glass are rare. Even the material may affect the quality of the tone produced even though numerous beginners can not even tell the difference. As such, it’s better to base your decision on your budget. You want to evaluate the practicality of purchasing a mouthpiece that is made from a distinguishing trait material in relation to the sound that it formulates at your peculiar stage of expertise.
When choosing a clarinet mouthpiece it’s also a good idea to look at the mouthpiece bore. If you want to construct a concentered and compact tone, opt for a clarinet mouthpiece that has a little bore. A more prominent one is required if you want to give rise to a dark and mellow tone.

A Good Mouthpiece By a One day in exercise i in an unintentional manner dropped my yamaha mouthpiece and it was just chipped of sufficient that i couldn’t use it anymore. I’m only an undergrad student playing in the band just for fun so i just purchased this mouthpiece because it was for less than the other selection. I’ve played the clarinet for ten years and the la voz mouthpiece is genuinely not that much dissimilar from the buffet and yamaha mouthpiece i have owned and employed before. I would commend this mouthpiece to any individual who is just looking for a new mouthpiece that works just fine.

Perfect mouthpiece! By T. Tate I am returning to the clarinet after a 12 year absence. I not long ago purchased a new Bb flat clarinet and had trouble with the mouthpiece that came with the instrument. I always applied the La Voz mouthpiece when I played the clarinet religiously in high school so this was my basi choice. Zero pain with this mouthpiece as I seek to improve my embouchure as I regain my Clarinet skills!

Daughter loves it! By LuvBigDogs My 10 year old said that it was much having little impact to play her clarinet with this new mouthpiece. She played a little for me, and I have to confess it even sounded better than the one she was using before. None of that honking business that was going on with the other . She’s very happy with it.
