How Black Chrome Wheels are Made

Most of the cost related with the making of these gems is labor. In order to give rise to them the right way there is an enormous amount of manual labor involved. In fact the success of the final product depends on almost totally on how well the surfaces of the rims are prepared before the entire electroplating routine even starts. To begin with, the substrate surface is wholly cleaned, and any scratches, pits or corrosion is got rid of or repaired. The surface is then acid washed and polished to as high quality a finish as possible.

The next stage in the procedure is to electroplate a nickel, or copper, layer onto the bare metal. Electroplating is the only method employed to do this. In electroplating the rims are placed into a bath containing a liquid copper or nickel solution. An electrical connection is made to the rims, and the other electrical connection to the bath. A layer of nickel or copper is then deposited onto the bare metal of the rims by electrolysis. It bonds to the rims at the molecular level. Once the original layer of nickel or copper has been electroplated, then the manual labor comes back into the project. The entire new surface is acid washed and then polished to high shine again.

A second layer is then applied. No matter whether the initial layer was copper or nickel, the second layer is nickel. The reason that nickel is employed is that it is very hard and durable. It is also the nickel that is responsible for the reflective shine that you will get on the finished product. Once the second layer has been electroplated onto the rims then it is once again manually acid washed and polished to a top quality shine.

Time for the final “coat”. The nickel plated rims are now immersed into a chromium solution and they are then chrome plated. The layer of chrome is exceedingly thin. In most cases it is only millionths of an inch. The chrome provides a final layer of shelter to the nickel, and electro-chemically helps in stopping tarnishing and corrosion. In the final step, the chromium solution in the electroplating bath has a black powder chemical contaminant added to it. This is how you end up with your fantastically cool black chrome wheels for your ride.

It can’t get any better at this price!!

The Xigmatek Dark Knight is one of the Best air coolers out there. I got mine for $44.99 which is ordinarily the price point for the littler 92mm tower coolers.
Also don’t let the picture that Amazon has up there fool you; the one that was shipped to me is Core i7 Ready.
With this cooler Xigmatek have likewise decisive to include a proper mounting kit (Backplate and spring loaded screws) rather of the push-pin type mount. This nonetheless brings with it the need to remove the motherboard to install it, a must for any good cooler.

Best bang for the buck

At this price there’s utterly no other cooler that may match it is performance. I purchased two of these for both my personal computers and they are perfectly astounding and they look beauteous inside my cases. I would unquestionably commend this to any person who needs a good cpu cooler. Of course there are better coolers but they are way more expensive. Another choice would be to buy the s1284 which has 4 heatpipes rather of the 3 the s1283v has. Oh… another thing, If you want to make this coolers work even better replace the fan with cooler master 120mm fan.

Very Nice CPU Cooling Unit

First off, this is the third such cooling unit I’ve installed in my son’s computer. The introductory cooling unit was also a third-party unit. I diligently read the instructions only to find it was poorly designed and would not lock into place. I had to go back to the basi principles and use the CPU fan that came with the CPU. I guess Intel wants others to make big amounts of cash on CPU fans because theirs likewise sucked, but at least it stayed attached to the CPU.

Well, the Intel motherboard broke for a second time, so we got another make and this CPU fan as an further and added add on. I will tell you, it was easy to put together and comparatively easy to install. I gave it four stars because it wasn’t perfect. The unit is in truth too big and clunky to install easily. I’m a reasonably big guy with big fingers, and I was not capable to install the unit by myself. I had to have my daughter screw in two of the four screws because I couldn’t fit my fingers into the very little space that was available after the unit was set on top of the CPU.

So, if you don’t have little fingers, find a child to help before you begin installation. Likewise, the fan attachment methodology seems a little less than solid. You fundamentally attach pieces of rubber to the fan and then hope for the best as you undertake to attach the rubber pieces to the big fin arrangment. It seems to have worked though. I now genuinely have two fans (the case fan and this CPU Cooling Unit fan) blowing air past the a lot of fins available.

The other thing to watch out is to plan carefully. You’re basically slugging in a huge rectangle on top of your CPU. My CPU and memory slots were close together, so I had to make sure I didn’t cover over the memory slots with the fins. I just rotated it 90 degrees and all was well. However, installing the fins *before* the memory or even installing the fins *before* screwing in the motherboard was impracticle. There is absolutly no way I could have screwed in the motherboard screws behind the fins with the big fin attachment in place.

Overall though, no complaints. It’s working, keeping the very hot CPU cool, and has not failed since I’ve installed it (which is much more than I may say for the other two units I installed).
