I may describe Smooth Jazz sensation Boney James’s CD Body Language for you with just one word… Outstanding!

It’s a rare day in truth that I get a CD from an artisan that I may with truth say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I’m more than happy to announce that’s incisively what I will have to say in regards to this one. There merely is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all.

Body Language is a nicely varied, mix of 9 tracks from one of best smooth jazz sax players around. One of the nicer things when it comes to hearing an artisan like Boney James is with the level of talent he posses even if Smooth Jazz isn’t your favored genre you still can’t aid but be grateful for the greatness of the artist.

Listen to and I think you’ll agree that the song selections are excellent, the production is great and Boney James’s sax work is when it comes to as good as it gets.

While the entire CD is outstanding the veritably standout tracks are Are You Ready? [track 1], Into The Blue [track 2], and All Night Long [track 9].

My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 5, Boneyizm. You gotta love Boneyizm!

Like an moron I left my horn leaning someplace and my old, old Selmer mouthpiece got chipped. No use thinking too hard regarding it, the only thing to do was to get another. The C* is the classic warm horn mouthpiece for the soprano. Not “duck-like” if you recognise what I mean. And it’s when it comes to as easy on the mouth as these punishing little beasts get. (In my heyday I gigged an Otto Link Metal 8*, which still digs in, but plays mayhem with my oral health.)

No matter what style you’re aiming for, this is either the only piece you need, or at least one of two you keep in the case.
