Flute Peg

Velvet peg for Flute/Clarinet

If you’re an novice in music, and you don’t recognise which notes sound this and that, you may find it hard to recognise how to tune an acoustic at first. Tuning is one of the most indispensable distinct features when playing acoustic guitars. Without the right tuning, you don’t just fabricate an awful sound quality, you’re also likely to demolish the whole song and your learning routine wouldn’t be that exciting. Tuning is what makes guitar artists play great music and even if you’re not looking forward to be the best guitarist there, you still need to learn how to tune an acoustic guitar properly.

So, given those horrid aftermaths in mind, you have to know what things to consider primary before learning how to tune an acoustic guitar.

Let’s begin with the tuning pegs. The tuning pegs are the ones found at both sides of your headstock. Each peg is connected to each string. Familiarize yourself with which tuning peg goes for each string, otherwise, you may spend so much time running your eyes back and forth from strings to pegs.

In general, tightening a tuning peg means making the string sound higher (sharper) in pitch. And loosening it will give you a lower (flatter) pitch.

After that, find out what the E note sounds like. Now, this may get you confused since there are two strings with an E note (the 1st and 6th string). Just do not forget that the 1st string is also an E note, only it is one octave higher than the 6th string. To recognise what the E note sounds like, you may refer to a piano (if you have one and you got an individual to instruct you where the E note is) or refer to video tutorials found in internet sites like YouTube. It’s of the to tell apart the E note (6th string) because this will serve as your baseline if you’re doing manual or relative tuning.

Lastly, memorize each string’s note value and the fret board. If you want to learn how to tune an acoustic guitar, you may find it with truth difficult if you don’t recognise anything with regards to the strings and the frets. Also, you may detect that the term “play open” is often times employed by a good deal of guitarists but you don’t know what it means. It’s plainly strumming or plucking the strings without pressing them on the fret board.

Once you’re done with the basics, you may now carry on to the real routine on how to tune an acoustic guitar. You may do it manually or by an electronic tuner.

5Great Design and Execution!
By Warren Weise
If you’re a saxophone player that doubles flute and/or clarinet, you’re gonna love this peg for the Hercules stands, which by the way, are amazing stands to begin with. The peg is covered with a plush material that protects your valuable instruments and keeps them from getting marred. They are effortlessly attached/detached to fit the circumstances of whatsoever gig you take place to be playing. These guys did their homework before coming to market!

5Nice peg
By Michael Bozonie
Because I’m a “doubler” I need flexibility. I’ve employed this peg with clarinet, flute, and oboe. I particularly like the felt-like exterior and the solid feel of the base into which they go.

5Works like a charm
By R. LaRue
This peg fits utterly into both my Bb and C clarinets, and speedily screws into one of the provided holes in my Hercules DS533 sax stand.

The DS533 holds a tenor or alto sax, and then has two holes that may take two other pegs–flute, clarinet, or soprano sax.

The pegs speedily screw out and the stand folds up into a net package in seconds. The only thing I wish for is a case with shoulder strap for it.
