I have employed a Hercules Trombone Stand for the past three years. This stand is great in my opinion so I decisive to do a full review on it.

Design – I love the design of this trombone stand. It is far from a popular “in the bell” trombone stand. The Trombone itself rests on the braces of the handslide. This is close to how the instrument is supported when it’s in your hands. Therefore, the stand will not cause injure to either brace while resting. Also, there is no peril of detrimental the bell while placing it or removing it from the stand. The width of the slots may be adjusted effortlessly by a simple mechanism on the stand. This means it may fit student models through the wide slide on my 42BO! However, it does not fit my alto. This capacity also makes for a very stable resting position as there is no extra room for the trombone to wobble.

Design rating – 5/5

Mobility – This stand has a tripod bottom which may be collapsed without adding any extra length to the stand. The stand itself is not that heavy, but it may be a bit bulky to carry around. Especially in a backpack. It would be nice if this stand could collapse a little bit more. However, if this could collapse down more it may sacrifice durability and stability which is where this stand actually shines out in my opinion.

Overview – This stand is not your typical “in the bell” trombone stand. The trombone is easy to insert and remove, yet the instrument is altogether secure while resting. The trombone likewise does not rest perpendicular to the ground but rather at an angle. I prefer this stand to any other that I have tested out.

Never tipsy. Fits Electric and Acoustic

Superb stand. Very well built. Buying a second one and also looking at an further and added (and very cool) compact travel stand from Hercules. Heavily employed my initial Hercules regarding 2 years now. Drastic betterment over the cheezy/flimsy $8 stands you see each guitar at Guitarcenter sitting on. (I’ve owned a couple of those in the past and will never go back) This stand is rock solid stable on most any surface that is reasonably flat because it has a wider than general disseminate to the legs so I never worry when it comes to my guitar falling over or OUT due to the autograb mechanism. It works flawlessly and has never put a mark on any of my guitars. BONUS is it fits acoustic as well as electic with a slick and quick neck height adjustment. No need for “electic only” or “acoustic only” stands as this is basically a free hanging stand, keeping the neck of guitar, and the automati grabber holds any of my guitars perfectly. HIGHLY recommend.

Simple and Secure.

The Hercules GS414B is so easy to use you don’t even have to break stride as you walk by and pick up your guitar. It’s a simple one-handed operation to stow or retrieve your instrument. When the guitar is hanging on the stand it feels much more secure than on any “cradle” style stand that I have ever used. It is solid and well built and I display both of my acoustic guitars, including a vintage Martin on this stand. I own two and if I buy another guitar I’ll buy another of these stands.

Great guitar stand. Get rid of that tacky rubber strap in front of your guitar that you perpetually have to strap on and off of the peg. With this you may just pick up your guitar when you want and the stand unlocks and when you set it back down in the stand the stand closes around the guitar. GREAT STAND HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I am buying another!
