Bundy clarinets are, along with Selmer (its ancestor company in France) clarinets, amongst the most general student clarinets of all time. The Bundy Resonite 1400 came out in 1948, and by 1978, one million of them had been sold. They’re still being sold today, 60 years after their debut. It was patterned after the French Selmer’s BT clarinet, but made from a dissimilar material – one that revolutionized clarinet production.

The name Bundy is from a Selmer employee named George Bundy who helped the Selmer brand in the U.S. grow into the major provider of high quality band instruments that it has been for over half a century. Bundy clarinets are very frequent in school band rental programs. They have good responsiveness, and the student who exercises in a faithful manner is speedily rewarded with a great clarinet sound.

There are today a number of brands of less highpriced student clarinets, but often times these are not commended by music teachers and band directors. While numerous of these models may be inexpensive, getting service for them may be problematic. Music store woodwind experts know their way around Bundy clarinets and recognise how to find substitute elements for them easily.

But that need doesn’t come up too many times because Bundy clarinets are tough. A clarinet designed for a student in the middle grades has to be tough, and Bundy has been getting the occupation done well for a long time. A employed Bundy clarinet in good condition must only cost when it comes to $200. The Bundy clarinet that belongs to an aunt or cousin but isn’t played anymore may be a great starting instrument for a band student. A tune-up and any repairs may be done by most music stores that trade woodwinds, and getting an old Bundy into ship-shape for the beginning band student has been done thousands of times.

Great originative rehearsal techniques

This is a outstanding book for bringing focus into each rehearsal. I use it each day with my high school concert band. It has helped each person play with more selfconfidence by not always having to rely on more inviolable players. It has helped them listen to each other and actually think for themselves. It offers concrete ideas for bettering dynamics, rhythm, intonation, tone quality, blend, articulation, and scales using endless originative methods that may be used to specific pieces we are working on. The students learn to listen to each other and play as a group. This is the most utile book I have ever read on this topic. It is an splendid book I highly commend to each conductor.

Great Resource

A great resource to make our band play better without them knowing it. Great tips, counsel and lesson plan to make the improvements happen. Why didn’t I recognise with regards to this book 10 years ago?
