Buying a employed or refurbished clarinet, for galore people, feels like a stab in the dark. How do you know what to buy and who to buy from? This article will give guidelines that will answer these two questions whether you’re going to buy from your local music store, or an online site, or from an ad in the newspaper.

o Know something when it comes to the seller

Research data in regards to the vender so you know who you’re buying from. Get views from local musicians. Most musicians will want to be helpful to you. Ask music teachers what they think of a queer music store or vender on an online site. Maybe they would be more than willing to support in the selection routine or aid with researching the seller. We commend you stay away from pawn shops unless you genuinely have someone welleducated to take with you.

o Make sure you get a cash back guarantee

Don’t buy from any individual who will not give you a cash back guarantee. I think it is reasonable for the vender to put a reasonable time limit on their money-back policy. Make sure you are clear with regards to their return policy and that it is possible to return the clarinet and what the terms are.

o Know what you want

If you are buying for a beginner or a child, you in all likelihood want to start out with a plastic or hard rubber clarinet. This type of clarinet requires less care and maintenance than a wood clarinet and is normally less immune which makes it requiring little effort for a beginner to get a tone produced. If you are looking for a clarinet for a beginner or a child, the following models are good: the Selmer 300 and 1400 models, Yamaha 20, Leblanc Vito Resotone (#3, 7212, and 7214 ) and the Buffet B12 are all solid resonite clarinet and good selections for a beginning instrument. The Ridenour 147 is a newer model clarinet that plays very well also. We have found all the models brought up here to be very consistent in quality. Of course, it also makes a big divergence how that applied clarinet was cared for.

If you are looking for a wood instrument, again we would commend the above manufacturers. Some models would be the Selmer Signet line, the Leblanc Noblet or the Normandy clarinets. We strongly commend staying away from clarinet brands you’ve never heard of. There are a heap of of them that merely are not well made and don’t have the quality of the above noted brands.

o Know what to look for.

Inspect the pads for worn edges, splits, or other damage. If buying goods online, look closely at the photos. Don’t buy anything that isn’t shown without doubt or question with assorted photos. Look at the cork where the pieces are joined together. Is it chipped or severely worn or even missing? Read the seller’s copy carefully. We commend that you stay away from any vender who isn’t experienced with clarinets.
