The burial flag is made from 100% cotton. The burial flag is not intended to be flown because of the stresses of being on the flag pole may and will cause it to tear rather easily. It is better to show case it in a burial flag display case.

There are galore places where you may buy a burial flag display case to store the flag in. There are numerous dissimilar designs. The most mutual that I have seen is the triangle display case that is the same size as the folded burial flag. If you are handy and get enjoyment from woodworking, consider building your own burial flag display case from these plans.

Have you ever wondered how to fold an American Flag into that nice neat triangle that shows off the blue union so nicely? Here is a step by step instruction on how to fold and American flag. This is easiest with two people.

1) Holding the flag on the narrow side, fold the lower edge of the strips over the union field.

2) The folded edge is again folded over the striped side. After this fold, the union field is visible on both sides of folded flag.

3) Start the triangular fold on the stripped end fold the lower left corner over to the open edge.

4) The outer point is now turned inwards toward the union field. This forms the second triangle.

5) Repeat steps three and four until the entire flag is folded and only the blue union field is visible.

First I’m going to run through what came in the box and then I’ll describe each item:

1. The digital caliper
2. A spare battery
3. A case
4. Instructions
5. Certificate of calibration
6. Two copies of the MaxTool catalog

First of all, I’m impressed that they hand tested my caliper on 20 dissimilar test gauges and included a hand-written table of the amount of error in each coming to an intermediate error of 0.02mm. By the way, the certificate is 0.0055 in. thick

Next, the instruction sheet shows a diagram of the tool and tells how to use each function.

There’s a spare battery

The case holds the caliper and the spare battery. Also, the case is rock-hard plastic with foam padding on the inside.

The caliper itself is awesome. It measures in both inches and millimeters to a tolerance of 0.0005 in. or 0.01 mm. It is capable of being plugged into a computer (cable not included). It has faces for measuring outside diameter, inside diameter, depth and a step (or height). There are three buttons for toggling power, toggling SA and metric and zeroing (or tare).

This is a terrifi buy even if you don’t need it. I say this because there will in the end be a time where you’ll be doing something and realize that it’s the proper tool.

Nice caliper…specially for the price!

It is no Mitutuyo (which retails for when it comes to $90+) and it has one less digit…BUT for most apps this nice little caliper is more than you need. You may have eight of these around the same price! The price figures as a huge plus in rating it, of course, but it works well and it does what it is supposed to do. One little footnote, the steel in the jaws is not very hard (as in a more highpriced caliper); it will bend and distort a bit more than you would like it to. But, then again, if you need a top-notch caliper, look at a Mitutoyo or the like. For the price, you may not beat this one.

I purchased this unit for the most part because I figured I couldn’t lose much for so little money. I have since figured it was a great deal. I even commended my company to buy one for the shop. They were glad I told them. Everyone I have shown this item has told me they are impressed with the quality of build and the very very low price. It came with everything necessary, such as the hard case (good quality) and extra battery. The instructions are all in English and clear. No need to worry when it comes to this one. This vender shipped my caliper on time and I got it in good shape.
